To provide a long battery life the TR35 goes into deep sleep mode if no movement is detected for 5 minutes. Deep sleep mode means that the GSM and GPS module shut down and are waiting for movement of the tracker, detected via a 3D accelerometer. Once this movement is detected the GPS and GSM modules will both power up and start reporting location data using a GPRS signal.
The location of the TR35, as shown on our tracking service, will be the location of the tracker last reported before it went to sleep. If the tracker is offline (as it is in deep sleep mode) then the tracker won't have moved since it was last online and will still be at the last reported location.
Note GSM and GPRS are different and you may have a GSM signal In a location but no GPRS signal. GSM is used for calls and SMS and GPRS is used for a data connection. The tracker needs a GPRS signal to communicate with our service. You may find that you have a signal on your mobile phone but this does not necessarily mean you will have a GSM or GPRS signal on the tracker due to the mobile phone frequencies used by the devices.
