Please ensure that you are not trying to fit model DM hitch lock to a AK270 hitch head ( see image below) as this is the incorrect hitch lock. The correct hitch lock is model AK27, this is supplied with a 50mm ball which will lower the handle, whereas the DM hitch lock is supplied with a 48mm dummy ring plate.
